Dr. Walkowski is a general surgeon and bariatric surgeon. He completed his medical degree at St. George’s University School of Medicine, and his residency at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Dr. Walkowski is dedicated to improving surgical outcomes through innovative techniques.

Dr. Marley specializes in breast surgical oncology at UPMC. She earned her medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine and completed her residency at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, followed by a Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship at Emory University. She is passionate about the multidisciplinary aspects of breast cancer treatments.

Dr. Ackerman is physician and is certified in thoracic surgery by the American Board of Surgery. He received his medical degree from Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine and completed his residency at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Mercy. Dr. Ackerman is committed to advancing thoracic surgery care.

Dr. Ryan Faught, MD

Dr. Faught is a general affiliated with Broward Health Medical Center. He earned his medical degree from the Drexel University College of Medicine and completed his residency at the Zucker School of Medicine. Dr. Faught is dedicated to improving health outcomes through quality care.

Dr. Kellie Cunningham, MD

Dr. Cunningham is board-certified in general surgery. She completed her medical degree at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and her residency at UPMC. Her research interests include rectal cancer outcomes and the pathophysiology of inflammatory bowel disease.

Dr. Sarwat Ahmad, MD

Dr. Ahmad specializes in breast surgery oncology. She earned her medical degree from the Ohio State University College of Medicine and completed her residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Dr. Ahmad is dedicated to fighting against breast cancer through prevention and early detection.

Dr. Karla Bernardi, MD

Dr. Bernardi practices at the Minimally Invasive Bariatric and General Surgery Program located in UPMC Magee-Women’s Hospital. She received her medical degree from Loyola Stritch School of Medicine and completed her general surgery residency at the University of South Florida. She has more than 30 publications and over 500 citings.

Dr. Bonidie is specializes in urogynecology and is certified in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery and obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He earned his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed his residency at Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Bonidie is passionate about optimizing efficiency in the use of robotic technology in surgery.

Dr. Alexander Canales, MD

Dr. Canales is a general surgeon and critical care surgery specialist. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston and completed his residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami. Dr. Canales is passionate about advancing research in the field.

Dr. Avery Capone, MD

Dr. Capone is a plastic surgeon certified in plastic surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He earned his medical degree from the Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed his residency at Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Dr. Capone’s clinical interests include rhinoplasty surgery, gender affirmation top surgery, and a broad array of reconstructive surgeries including skin cancer reconstruction and abdominal wall reconstruction.

Dr. Leeper is a trauma and critical care surgeon at UPMC. She received her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed her residency at UPMC. Dr. Leeper’s clinical interests include trauma-induced coagulopathy and optimal transfusion practice in adult and pediatric trauma.

Dr. Napoe is specializes in urogynecology and is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She earned her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed her residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital – Harvard Medical School. Dr. Napoe believes in living in a diverse and equitable environment where every person lives with dignity and the confidence that their healthcare will serve their needs.

Dr. Cruz is a specializes in transplant surgery and general surgery. He received his medical degree from the University of Santo Amaro and completed his residency at UPMC. Dr. Cruz is passionate about medical and surgical management of intestinal failure and autologous gastrointestinal reconstruction

Dr. Baker has expertise in all aspects of thoracic surgery including, benign and malignant diseases of the lung, esophagus, mediastinum, and pleura. He earned his medical degree from West Virginia University and completed general surgery residency training at Charleston Area Medical, where he developed an interest in thoracic surgery. Dr. Baker is interested in robotic-assisted thoracic surgery.

Dr. Carpenter is a transplant surgeon who specializes in abdominal transplants and liver surgery. She received her medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine and completed her residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. She is certified in liver, kidney, pancreas, and intestinal transplantation through the American Society of Transplant Surgeons and is also certified in hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery.
